WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

24-Jan-2017

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

Acts 3:1-5

The lame man was expecting to receive something. Expectation is a powerful thing. When you arrive to the House of God, you must arrive with the expectation that you are going to receive something great. The greater your expectation, the more you are going to receive.

The expectation is what we do not know, what we have not planned and what the spirit will add.

I do not go to church because I am scared of God or because I am afraid to go to Hell, I go to church because I want to be there and I love it. I go to the House of God because I know that there is something there for me that I cannot get in any other place. To go to church without an expectation is robbing you of the greatest power, riches and blessings available.

DO NOT GO AWAY FROM A CHURCH SERVICE WITH NOTHING

The power of your blessing rests inside of you, in your level of expectation. With that knowledge, you should be getting out of bed every morning with a newfound confidence. Wake up inspired, not expired. Do not wait for someone else to light your fire, light it yourself.

Do not let life dictate to you. “How’s life treating you?” is the wrong question to ask me. Life does not ‘treat’ me, I ‘TREAT’ LIFE!

Jesus says I am The Way, The Truth and The Life and so the Christ in me says, “I am The Life.”

Your expectation needs to be stronger than your emotions, regardless of how you are feeling, you know that the word of the House is to grow you, increase you and elevate you. If you trust your feelings, they will run you ragged. Depression lurks at the edge of uncontrolled feelings and emotions.

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have,

Acts 3:6

You think money is your biggest problem? It does not matter how much money you have. Money will come when you need it as long as you focus on God. If it is money for God’s sake, it will come to you.

Peter and John had access to the same power that pulled money from a fish’s mouth and yet they said they did not have any money. They wanted to move this man’s mindset that believed that the god of money could get him out of his situation. The disciples were smashing the demon of mammon. What the lame man was asking for was not what he really needed. He needed the power that rested in these two men.

So many people think their answers lie in money. So many have cut themselves off from their assignment for a season because they have switched gods. Money is not evil, it is the greed that sits in the bearer; it is how people view it and how it affects you.

YOUR VIEW OF MONEY WILL CAUSE YOU TO LIVE BIG OR SMALL – why are you so desperately chasing something that should naturally be attracted to you.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:33

but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and anklebones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them – walking, leaping, and praising God.

Acts 3:5-9

He took him by the right hand and lifted him up – Peter put a human hand into this miracle. Something powerful attached itself to this great faith. The super entered the natural and created a miracle.

But what I do have – When you know what you have, that thing carries the power of miracles. Do not worry about what you do not have; focus on what you DO have. Dissatisfaction in your life causes you to seek more to make you feel qualified and acceptable.

When I met Jesus, He gave me something that the world could not give me, not even my closest loved ones could give it to me. I have got something and what I have I give to you – it changes lives and empowers. It changes positions, changes mindsets; it brings liberty and causes you to rise.

When feeding the five thousand, the disciples sought Jesus to solve the problem but Jesus said, “you feed them.” You may think you have nothing but you do not know what you have inside you. When Jesus asked the disciples what they had they brought a little boy’s lunch of 5 loaves and 2 fish; from something so small came one of the greatest miracles known to man. The little you do have carries a miracle in it; no matter how insignificant you deem it to be, God sees it as a vital part of some of the greatest miracles.

TWO LIES FROM THE ENEMY

  1. The enemy will try to deceive you about what you have. Phillip and the rest of the apostles were blessed by God and yet they thought they did not have what it took…LIE

  2. When you finally get to the point where you believe in what you carry, the enemy causes you to think that it is not good enough.

But Jesus broke the deception that the disciples did not have what it took and what they had was not good enough. He broke the fear of failure. Beware, the second deception is worse than the first.

Your miracle is not coming from the outside; your miracle is coming from within.
